Future Plans
Helping the less fortunate and down-trodden.
Welcome to The H.A.R.P. Band – where music, perseverance, and purpose come together to inspire change. H.A.R.P. stands for “Helping And Redirecting People,” a mission built on the belief that music can encourage hope, create connection, and help people move toward a better future.
Through live performances and community engagement, The H.A.R.P. Band aims to uplift audiences while supporting those facing poverty, hardship, and difficult life circumstances.
Led by a talented one-man band performer, Johnny Phoenix, The H.A.R.P. Band delivers a unique musical experience using guitar, harmonica, and foot-triggered drum percussion performed simultaneously.
With the aid of a specially designed harmonica holder and custom percussion setup, each performance showcases creativity, determination, and a passion for using music as a positive force. More than entertainment, The H.A.R.P. Band is about reaching people through music, encouraging compassion, and helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Johnny “HARP” Phoenix Foundation
Rising From the Ashes. Rebuilding Lives. Restoring Hope.
One of our long-term dreams is to establish the Johnny “HARP” Phoenix Foundation — an organization dedicated to helping people who are struggling with poverty, addiction, homelessness, and difficult circumstances get another chance at life.
The name Phoenix represents what we believe is possible: a person can fall, lose everything, and still rise again.
Our vision is to eventually create a community-based network of support that helps people not simply survive, but gives them the resources, encouragement, and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.
A Food Bank With a Difference
One of the foundation’s future goals is to establish a food bank where eligible individuals and families can obtain essential groceries at deeply discounted prices, helping stretch limited household incomes much further.
We envision making everyday necessities available, including:
- Meat and other sources of protein
- Bread and baked goods
- Eggs
- Milk and other basic dairy products
- Margarine and butter
- Baby diapers
- Baby formula
- Toiletries and personal-care products
- Pots, pans, dishes, and other household necessities
- Furniture and essential household items
The goal would not simply be to give people a handout. It would be to give families a hand up — helping them afford the necessities of life while preserving their dignity and independence.
Helping People Break Free From Addiction
Another important part of the Phoenix Foundation’s future vision is helping people struggling with drug and substance addictions.
Addiction can destroy relationships, employment, housing, finances, and a person’s sense of hope. We want to help connect people with the appropriate treatment, recovery programs, counselling, and other professional resources available in their community.
Our goal would be to help people find a path from addiction toward recovery, stability, and a healthier future.
Helping People Get Off the Streets
No one should have to spend their nights wondering where they are going to sleep or where their next meal will come from.
The Phoenix Foundation would work toward helping people experiencing homelessness connect with housing, food, treatment, employment resources, identification services, government programs, and other community supports.
Where possible, we want to help people move beyond emergency assistance and toward permanent housing and greater independence.
Feeding Those Who Have Nowhere Else to Turn
While working toward longer-term solutions, we also want to address the immediate need.
The foundation’s future plans include helping provide meals and food to people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty.
A person should not have to choose between eating and finding a place to sleep.
Sometimes helping someone begin rebuilding their life starts with something as simple as making sure they have a hot meal.
More Than Food — A Path Forward
Our ultimate vision goes beyond a food bank.
We want to help create a place where people can discover resources, information, support, and opportunities that can help them begin helping themselves.
That could include connections to:
- Housing and emergency shelters
- Addiction treatment and recovery programs
- Mental-health and counselling resources
- Employment and job-training programs
- Government assistance programs
- Identification and documentation services
- Community organizations
- Clothing and household necessities
- Food and emergency assistance
- Other services that can help people become stable and independent
We don’t believe that a person’s current circumstances should determine their future.
People deserve a second chance.
From One Person’s Story to a Community of Hope
The Johnny “HARP” Phoenix Foundation is a future goal, but the idea behind it comes from something very real: the belief that people can change their lives when someone is willing to help them get back on their feet.
We hope that one day the H.A.R.P. Band can grow beyond music and become part of something much bigger — a community dedicated to Helping And Redirecting People.
Our dream is to help people rise from poverty, addiction, homelessness, and despair and discover that their story does not have to end where their struggles began.
The Phoenix can rise.
And when it does, we want to be there to help.
